Experience Uganda’s largest national park in just 3 days. Starting with a rare walking safari alongside white rhinos at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, you will cross the Nile by ferry into Murchison Falls National Park for lion-country game drives and an unforgettable boat trip to the thundering Murchison Falls — where the Nile squeezes through a 7-metre gap and plunges 43 metres into Lake Albert.
Distance: 300 km | Drive: approx. 6 hours (2.5 hrs to Ziwa)
After breakfast your Eve On Safari guide meets you at your hotel and drives north to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary — the only place in Uganda where you can walk alongside rhinos. Uganda’s rhinos became extinct in the early 1980s through poaching and civil unrest; Ziwa was established to breed white and black rhinos and restore populations to national parks. After lunch continue to Murchison Falls NP, crossing the Nile by ferry to reach your lodge. Dinner and overnight at Pakuba Game Lodge.
Rise early for a morning game drive across the rolling savannah of Uganda’s largest national park (3,893 sq km). Expect to see lions, giraffes, hartebeest, buffalo, elephants, Secretary Birds, and Black-Chested Snake Eagles. In the afternoon board a boat to the base of Murchison Falls, where the Nile thunders through a narrow 7-metre gap and plunges 43 metres — one of Africa’s most spectacular natural sights. Nile crocodiles and huge pods of hippos line every bank. Optional: disembark and hike 45 minutes to the top of the falls. Overnight at Pakuba Game Lodge (full board).
After breakfast, drive to the top of Murchison Falls for a close-up view into the gorge and — on sunny mornings — a beautiful rainbow. Then drive back south to Kampala, arriving in the evening for transfer to your hotel or onward connection.
